Two In Custody After Cedar Rapids Chase

(Linn County, IA) -- Two men are in custody after a chase that ended in northeast Cedar Rapids Wednesday night. The Linn County Sheriff's Office says a deputy tried to pull over a Ford Econoline Van after 10:30 p.m. but the driver fled, leading deputies on a chase north on Sherman Street, west on Texas Avenue, and north on North Center Point Road. The driver then headed east on 42nd Street and back on Sherman, before pulling into 1470 Miami Drive NE.

The Sheriff's Office says the driver, 34-year-old Michael Redenbaugh of Cedar Rapids was arrested for Driving While License Under Suspension, Attempting to Elude, and Disobedience to a Traffic Control Device. Deputies also took 50-year-old Jon Paul Hampshire of Cedar Rapids into custody. Hampshire was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
