(Iowa City, IA) -- Iowa City is preparing for a review of its charter. The once-a-decade task will assess how city government is organized.

Alderman Andrew Dunn wrote in the Cedar Rapids Gazette recently that he'd like the city to consider changing how it elects council members. He says allowing voters to decide races in districts they don't live in is unfair.

Council is accepting applications from people interested in serving on a Charter Commission until February 13th.
