(Rock Island, IL) -- A man is in custody after a shooting in Rock Island.
Rock Island Police responded to reports of a shooting around 8:00 a.m. Thursday to Pak Source, a packaging supply company on Mill Street, and discovered a 34-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to his torso.
The victim was transferred to UnityPoint Health-Trinity Hospital to be treated for serious but non life-threatening injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed 30-year-old Dante Beard, a coworker, had a confrontation with the victim.
Rock Island Police along with the the county sheriff's office performed a search warrant around 1:40 p.m. on Thursday at the American Motor Inn.
There, Beard was taken into custody.
Law enforcement is still investigating.
