(Davenport, IA) -- Drivers should expect slippery roads this morning in the Quad Cities area as crews continue to clean-up from yesterday's first major storm of the season.

Several streets remain slick, and many side streets and alleys remain unplowed. Bettendorf is reminding residents to remove garbage and recycling cans from alleys to allow for snow clearing.

Several rural schools remain closed today, while Davenport and select area schools are starting two hours late.

A few outbound flights at Quad Cities International Airport are cancelled this morning.

The Iowa 5-1-1 website reports roads and interstates in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois as partially covered. Travel isn't advised on a section of I-80 from West Branch through Iowa City, west to Oxford due to multiple accidents and whiteout conditions.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Alex Gibbs says another inch or two of snow is expected tonight, and another major snowfall is on the way Thursday night into Friday.
