Blizzard Warning For Quad Cities Area

(Moline, IL) -- Severe winter weather is expected in the Quad Cities area.

The National Weather Service says a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 12th, and then it switches to a Blizzard Warning at 5:00 p.m. this afternoon through 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13th.

Residents can expect blowing snow tonight and Saturday morning.

An additional 2-4 inches of snow accumulation is possible by 6:00 p.m. Friday in the Quad Cities area.

The National Weather Service has also issued a Wind Chill Watch from Saturday evening through Tuesday morning.

Dangerously cold wind chills are possible, with wind chill temperatures reaching as low as 40 below zero.
