(Iowa) -- The leader of the Democrats in the Iowa Senate will not seek re-election.
State Senator Pam Jochum (YOH-come) of Dubuque has announced that she will not run for re-election this year in Iowa Senate District 36. She says she plans to continue advocating for the Democratic Party's agenda during her remaining time in office and working to get more Democrats elected in this year's upcoming elections before stepping aside for the next generation of leadership in her party.
