(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Cedar Rapids Fire Department is investigating a garage fire.

Crews were called to the 200 block of 10th St. NW around 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25 for reports of a garage fire.

Upon arrival, crews discovered smoke emerging from a detached, two-stall garage, with a fire on one side growing quickly.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire while saving a cat that was trapped inside before the Cedar Rapids Animal Control and Care treated it for smoke inhalation.

Two firefighters were evaluated after experiencing electrical shocks.
