(Des Moines, IA) —The man accused of destroying the Satanic Temple display at the Iowa Capitol is being charged with a hate crime.
35 year-old year old Michael Cassidy is facing multiple charges, including a hate crime, after being accused of destroying the display that the Satanic Temple of Iowa placed in the state Capitol around Christmas time. The Satanic Temple of Iowa put up the display in the Capitol citing religious freedom.
Cassidy is a Navy veteran and ran for Congress in Mississippi.
