(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Cedar Rapids Fire Department is investigating a house fire where fire crews saved all the occupants, including several pets.

Fire crews were called to a house in the 1200 block of 2nd Street SW Sunday around 9:45 p.m. for reports of fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke emerging from the front doors and found a fire in the living room.

Crews quickly extinguished the flames.

Four adults, dogs, cats, and a pet lizard were all saved from the fire.

The fire department says the living room sustained minor fire damage along with the first floor sustaining moderate smoke and water damage.
