Omaha House Fire Cause Determined

The fire department says no people are hurt, but three cats die in a South Omaha house fire early Monday morning.

The fire was around 2:30 a.m. near 42nd and "F" Streets, and fire investigators say it was accidentally caused by unattended candles that were left burning.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the second story window.

Omaha Fire Investigators also look for the cause of a vacant house fire in Omaha, in which a firefighter suffered a minor injury.

The fire was Sunday morning near 47th and Izard Streets.

The Fire Department says there was evidence that squatters had been inside the home.
