The Omaha Public Schools Board of Education goes in house in choosing its next superintendent.
Matthew Ray was chosen Tuesday night following an executive session at the end of an open meeting and candidate interview session at Buena Vista High School.
Ray has served as interim superintendent since the departure of former Omaha Public Schools Superintendent Cheryl Logan last Spring.
Ray has been with O-P-S for almost three decades, starting as an elementary school teacher.
