Raising Estate Tax Threshold Could Help Illinois Family Farms

(Springfiled, IL) -- A bill under consideration in Springfield would help Illinois family farms live on by raising the estate tax threshold.

Right now, the estate tax kicks in at four million dollars. The new bill would up that to six.

Analysts say the proposal would help heirs keep property so they don't have to sell it to pay the taxes.
