(Davenport, IA) -- Two people are in custody following a Davenport house fire.

The Davenport Fire Department was called for reports of a structure fire in the 1100 block of Brown Street Friday, February 23, at around 10:21 a.m.

A neighbor from across the street noticed smoke coming from the windows of a home and called 911.

Upon arrival, crews discovered heavy smoke and fire coming from the back of the house.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire in about 15 minutes.

Nobody was inside the house at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

Crews noted moderate damage to the home from the fire and smoke.

Fire Investigators determined the fire was set intentionally in the back porch of the house that was being used as a bedroom.

The two people charged with first degree arson are 30-year-old Daltyn Matthes and 39-year-old Jetal Womack.

They are being held in the Scott County Jail.
