(Davenport, IA) -- Charges are being dropped against a Davenport teacher accused of touching a student inappropriately at a wedding.

Prosecutors say Julian Lira, currently on leave from his job as a 6th grade teacher at Jackson Elementary, was not in a position of authority over the 14-year-old girl when the reported abuse took place last Fall.

Lira was acquitted on charges of touching a child in 2002.
