Trial Of Man Accused Of Killing Illinois Sheriff's Deputy Begins

(Cambridge, IL) -- Intent to kill, or an accident? Those were the opening arguments presented to a jury in the trial of Daylon Richardson on Tuesday.

Richardson is accused of killing Knox County Sheriff's Deputy Nick Weist in April 2022. Weist was laying down spikes to stop Richardson's vehicle during a police chase.

The trial continues today in Henry County Court today.
