(Davenport, IA) -- A former alderman is accusing the City of Davenport of not coming to his defense.

Former Fourth Ward Alderman Robby Ortiz reportedly wrote a letter January 16, asking for $950-million in order for him not to sue the city after an investigation into his alleged use of racial slurs.

Ortiz claims he never used any slurs and the investigation's results were never released to the public.

Alderman Tim Kelly accused Ortiz of using the racial slur last year during a discussion with other council members present on September 27.

Ortiz sued Kelly for defamation and that case is still being played out.
