(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Around 4,000 Alliant Energy customers lost power in eastern Iowa due to high winds, gusting to nearly 40 miles per hour throughout the day.

Power went out Sunday afternoon and was restored to the area by Sunday evening after the winds died down.
