Iowa Women's Basketball Coach Gives Update On Player's Injury

(Iowa City, IA) -- Iowa Women's Basketball Coach Lisa Bluder is providing an update on Senior Guard Molly Davis, who was injured Sunday afternoon during the Iowa game against Ohio State.

"I am so thankful to tell you there's no ACL tear, we are very thankful about that," Bluder said during her coach's show Monday night. Bluder says Davis will not require surgery but does have what Bluder described as a serious knee cap injury, but it is not a season ending injury.

Bluder says Davis will not be able to play during the Big 10 Women's Basketball Tournament, but she's hopeful she will be able to play in the NCAA Tourney.

The Iowa women are the No. 2 seed in the Big 10 Tourney. Their first game is Friday at 5:30 p.m. against either Penn State or Wisconsin. The tourney begins March 6th in Minneapolis. It is sold out for the first time in conference history.
