Offutt Employee Accused In Classified Info Case

A retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel working as a civilian at Offutt Air Force Base is accused of leaking top secret information on a dating app.

A federal indictment handed up in the federal district of Nebraska says 63-year-old David Richard Slater would attend classified briefings at Offutt, then share information on military targets with someone claiming to be a woman in Ukraine.

She called Slater her secret informant love, and her secret agent.

Prosecutors say Slater gave information including military targets and Russian military capabilities.

He faces ten years in prison if convicted.

The FBI Omaha Field Office and Air Force Office of Special Investigations are investigating the case.

Offutt Air Force Base Nebraska is the headquarters of the U.S. Strategic Command, the command and control center of this nation's nuclear triad.
