(Davenport, IA) -- A date has been set for the Adventureland wrongful death trial.

The civil trial over the death of Marion's Michael Jaramillo will get started on October 21 in Scott County Court in Davenport.

The eleven-year-old died in the summer of 2021 after a raft on the Raging River ride capsized, trapping him underwater at Adventureland amusement park in Altoona with his brother David.

Jaramillo later died at the hospital while his brother recovered.

A lawsuit claims the pair was under water for several minutes without any staff coming to help.

The Raging River Ride was permanently closed last year.
