(Undated) -- This week's U-S Drought Monitor shows little change. Nearly all of Iowa is in drought or near drought conditions. A large part of northern and eastern Iowa are in extreme drought.

This week's report reflects an expansion in moderate and extreme drought. Only parts of Plymouth, Woodbury, and a sliver of Jackson counties are drought free.

Much needed rain is expected tonight thru tomorrow (Friday). The National Weather Service says southern and eastern Iowa may get the highest totals, around 1 inch. Forecasters expect half-inch totals will be more common elsewhere.
