(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A national fire safety awareness event scheduled next month hopes to keep Cedar Rapids residents and their homes safe.
The Red Cross 'Sound The Alarm' event will canvas neighborhoods in Cedar Rapids to install new smoke alarms, and check batteries in existing smoke alarms. Volunteers will also share fire safety info, and help with family escape planning.
The event takes place Saturday, April 13th.
