(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A doctor from Cedar Rapids accused of sexually exploiting a patient won't see any jail time, or go on the sex offender registry.

The Iowa Capital Dispatch reports that Dr. Scott Piper will serve two years probation for pleading guilty to a lesser charge of assault causing mental illness.

Piper still faces a civil suit from the patient.

The Iowa Board of Medicine also chose not to penalize Piper for his conduct after reviewing the complaint.
