Parkersburg Police Chief Charged with Serving Alcohol After Hours

(Parkersburg, IA) -- The Parkersburg Police Chief is being charged with serving alcohol after hours.

Investigators say a deputy conducted an alcohol compliance check at a local bar on February 11th and found Police Chief David Jara bartending after 2am. Jara later admitted to being an employee at the bar. In Iowa it's illegal to serve alcohol between 2am and 6am. Jara is being charged with a misdemeanor.

Jara is scheduled to appear in court on April 16th.
