(Davenport, IA) -- Davenport Mayor Mike Matson cited too many outbursts as his reason for removing the public from chambers during last night's Council meeting.

The removal came during a discussion over plans to pay 50-thousand dollar bonuses to the interim city administrator and interim city attorney.

Several speakers cited a continued lack of transparency at City Hall over personnel issues, including Matson's executive order appointment of the interim city administrator.

The Times reports that Council didn't have enough votes to grant the administrator's bonus. They voted to remove the interim city attorney's bonus from the agenda altogether.
