(Des Moines, IA) -- Violent crime in Des Moines is down compared to this time last year.
The Des Moines Police Department says confirmed shootings are down 23 percent from January 1st through the end of March of 2023. Homicides are down 71 percent during the same time period. Des Moines has seen two homicides so far this year.
