Omaha Police Consider Alcohol Use In Fatal Crash

Omaha Police accident investigators say alcohol use is considered a factor in a crash at Fort Street and Interstate-680.

Officers went to the scene at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a three vehicle accident.

Police say officers determined a Nissan Versa driven by 23-year old Jordan Phipps was eastbound on Fort Street when it collided with a Honda Accord that was turning left onto Fort from the I-680 northbound exit ramp. Police say Omaha Fire Paramedics declared the driver of the Honda, 29-year old Samuel Rohl, dead at the scene.

A Hyundai Elantra was struck by debris from the accident.
