(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids is getting a grant from the Federal Highway Administration to replace the 8th Avenue Arc of Justice Bridge.

The city will receive 56.4-million dollars from the 2021 Infrastructure Bill to replace the 86-year-old bridge with a structure 15-feet higher.

The grant will cover 80-percent of the cost, with the city picking up the balance.

The project is part of the larger, multi-year flood-control system project.
