A Des Moines man is behind bars after police say drag racing was a factor in a fatal April motorcycle crash.

33-year old Ryan Leroy Gile was arrested on Monday, and is now facing several charges in the death of 41-year old Mitchell Ohland.

Police say evidence shows the two were drag racing prior to Ohland's death, reaching speeds of more than 70 miles an hour before the crash at East 16th Street and East University Avenue on April 7th of this year.

Ohland was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Gile is facing two felony county of Homicide by Vehicle, and three other misdemeanor counts.
