Boone, Iowa police release details of fatal shooting

UPDATE:   A man, killed in an officer-involved shooting in Boone Saturday has been identified as 48-year-old Timothy W. Anderson, who lived at the address.  An autopsy on Anderson's body will be conducted tomorrow (Tuesday).   Six Boone Police officers have been placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of an investigation.

Chief Weibold has audio from the initial 9-1-1 call, from a woman who said her boyfriend was drunk and was attacking her and her elderly mother.  Weibold says when officers arrived, they heard yelling and screaming from inside the home.  He says Anderson refused to drop a knife he had, and "came at" the officers, who fired their weapons.  It is not known how many gunshots hit Anderson.

Officers placed on leave include:  Captain Lonnie Hikiji, Officer Daniel Lynch, Officer Joseph Slight, Officer Connor McCuen, Officer Cole Hilsabeck, and Officer Seth McCrea.

(BOONE, Iowa)   More details are expected to be released this (Monday) afternoon about an officer-involved shooting Saturday, that resulted in a man's death.

Boone Police were called to a home at 620 2nd Street Saturday at approximately 4:30 p.m. because of a domestic dispute, they encountered a man, who police shot and killed.    The man's name has not been released at this time.

The news conference is at 2 p.m. at the Boone Police Department.
