No One Hurt After DART Bus Catches Fire in Altoona Monday

(Altoona, IA) -- No one is hurt after a Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority bus caught fire on Monday.

The Altoona Fire Department responded to reports of the bus on fire in a Walmart parking lot around 4:30 Monday afternoon. When crews arrived at the scene, they found the DART bus on fire with heavy smoke coming from the rear compartment. Three passengers and the driver were on board during the fire, all of whom were evacuated safely.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
