DES MOINES – Wholesale ethanol prices fell $1.24 this week, closing at $2.28.  Global crude oil rose $3.72, currently at $103.38, while Brent crude oil rose $3.19, currently at $107.88

 

Crude Oil Summary

The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $3.72 per barrel over last week, currently at $103.38.

 

Brent crude oil rose $3.19 this week, currently at $107.88.

 

One year ago WTI crude sold for $94.20 and Brent crude was at $104.08.

 

Motor Fuels

As of Tuesday, April 8th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.59 across Iowa according to AAA.  This is up $.03 from last week and up $.05 from one year ago.  The national average on Tuesday was $3.60, up $.04 from last week’s price. 

 

Retail diesel fuel prices in Iowa fell a penny on the Tuesday report with a statewide average of $3.81.   One year ago diesel prices averaged $3.89 in Iowa.   The current Iowa diesel average is $.15 per gallon lower than the national average of $3.96.

 

Wholesale ethanol prices fell $1.24 this week, closing at $2.28. The price of Mid-Grade Blend in Iowa (10% ethanol) closed at $3.49 per gallon, up $.03 from last week’s price and up $.05 from one year ago.

 

Heating Fuels

Natural Gas prices in Iowa were up $.25 from last week’s report, ending the week at $4.53 / MMbtu.
