Are 'Snaplications' The Future for Job Seekers?

For many companies, finding the right person for the job can be difficult. That's why job-hunting sites like LinkedIn and Monster.com have become so popular for employers and employees.

However, for one of the largest fast-food chains on the planet, Snapchat has become the hip new way to hire job seekers in Australia.

The 'Snaplications' are serving as a first round in the interview process. McDonalds says after reviewing the videos, they send digital applications for those potential employees who could move onto the next round.

Snapchat, a smartphone application that allows users to send photo and video messages that disappear after the recipient views them, has become one of the most popular apps among younger denizens on the 'net. The Venice, California company's recent IPO has them valued at well over $24 billion.

McDonalds says they're looking for people who exemplify a 'bubbly personality,' according to Shan Ruming, the chief operating officer of McDonald's Australia and that Snapchat would be a good way for managers to find those who can excel in a customer service role.
