Internet Rallies Behind Boy's Quest for Endless Nuggets

All that twitter user @carterjwm wants is a retweet. 18 million of them, to be exact.

Carter Wilkerson is a big fan of Wendy’s chicken nuggets and wanted to know what it would take to get a year’s supply for free. So he asked, and Wendy's actually responded with 18 million. Wilkerson is even selling shirts with the hashtag “NuggsForCarter” to help support his cause. All proceeds from the shirts will be donated to charity.

Once word got around, #NuggsForCarter started trending on Twitter. It even caught the eye of some politicians, celebrities and major companies.

As of 4 am on 4/12 Carter has reached 2.6 million retweets! He still has a long way to go to reach 18 million, but those numbers are still very impressive! It turns out no one can deny the deliciousness that is the chicken nugget, and Carter we love your passion for Wendy's 'Gold Rocks.'

The tweet has potential to break the record set by Ellen DeGeneres for most-retweeted post at the 2014 Oscars. It was retweeted 3.2 million times.
