UPDATE: Johnston murder suspect headed to court

UPDATE:    Johnston homicide suspect Abraham Roberts has been extradited from Koochiching County Minnesota and is being held in the Polk County Jail.  He's scheduled to  make an initial court appearance Wednesday morning.   Roberts is facing First Degree Murder charges in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Agnes Yarlee April 16th in the Johnston apartment the two shared.

 Johnston homicide suspect, Abraham Roberts has waived his right to an extradition hearing and voluntarily agreed to return to the State of Iowa.  He's currently in custody in Koochiching County Minnesota.

The 38 year old will be brought back to Polk County, to answer questions in the murder of Roberts girlfriend, 34 year old Agnes Yarlee found dead last Saturday night in the Johnston apartment the two shared.

 Roberts is expected back in Polk County late next week.

A man wanted in connection to a Johnston murder could be sent back to Iowa this week.

Johnston Police said 38-year-old Abraham Roberts made a court appearance in Minnesota on Monday. He's wanted for questioning in the death of his girlfriend, 34-year-old Agnes Yarlee. She was found shot in a Johnston apartment on Saturday night.

Roberts was stopped while trying to cross into Canada at International Falls, Minnesota. He's held on a material witness warrant in Koochiching County, Minnesota on $1 million bond. He was appointed a public defender.

Authorities said an extradition hearing is pending and could take place this week.

Johnston Police said Roberts is believed to be responsible for the shooting. They said he and Yarlee had children together and the shooting is believed to have come after a domestic dispute.
