Iowa Senator criticizing U.S. Veterans Administration for 'misleading statements'

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley is accusing the Federal Veterans Administration of misleading the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The Iowa Republican says, at issue, is the length of time veterans are waiting to get health appointments.

Senator Grassley is writing to V.A. Secretary David Shulkin, that a whistleblower has come forward with data, showing that as recently as March, hundreds of Iowa veterans were waiting between one and two years for an appointment.

Senator Grassley calls the wait times "completely unacceptable", and extremely disturbing.   Shulkin says it's a misunderstanding.
