Iowa's Grassley on former FBI chief's testimony

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley says he he doesn't know if Senators will get any new information from James Comey, when the former FBI Director testifies before the Senate Intelligence Committee.

He says they may hear the same information that was already leaked, but it'll just come from Comey directly.

Grassley says he'd like to hear Comey to talk about the decision to hold a news conference last July,  about Hillary Clinton's emails, and his talks with then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

The Iowa Republican was asked by reporters today if he thinks Comey's testimony will be reliable and true.

Grassley, who heads the Senate Judiciary Committee,  responded that he's given  oaths and has sworn in Comey as a witness several times, and he (Grassley) has no reason to believe that (Senators) got anything but the truth from the former FBI Director.

Grassley says the only fault he can find with James Comey is that in the past, Comey has stated he could not answer questions in "an environment like this."

Grassley says the only complaint he's ever had with Comey, is a failure to respond to Grassley's oversight requests, regarding whistle blowers.

Grassley says, however, that's a fault he finds with a lot of government bureaucrats.

WHO-Radio will carry Comey's testimony live tomorrow morning, beginning at 9 o'clock.
