NASA is welcoming 12 new astronauts to the space program and one is from Iowa!
The 2017 class includes seven men and five women. They were selected from a pool of more than 18-thousand applicants, which is a record number of candidates. America's newest astronauts will join 44 other astronauts currently in the program.
Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Raja Chari is one of the 12...Born in Milwaukee, Chari was raised in Cedar Falls, and his proud mother, Peggy, lives there.
