On June 7, 2017, Captain Christopher Jones was one of over two hundred and twenty law enforcement leaders who graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
The 268th Session of the FBI National Academy consisted of men and women from throughout the United States. Also included in the class were members of law enforcement agencies from 23 countries.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the FBI National Academy offers advanced investigative, leadership, and fitness training to carefully selected officers with proven records as professionals within their agencies.
The application and selection process for attendance at the National Academy is rigorous. Acceptance into this program is not guaranteed and is very difficult to secure.
Once in the program, attendees are challenged academically and physically over the course of 10 weeks. Upon graduation, attendees return to their agencies with an elite skill set and perspective which will enhance the law enforcement services provided by their home agencies.
Training for the program is provided by the FBI instructional staff, FBI Special Agents, and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.
Chief of Police Michael W. Tupper stated, “We are very proud of Captain Jones and this great accomplishment. The FBI National Academy is a very prestigious law enforcement training opportunity. We congratulate Captain Jones on his graduation. We are fortunate to have Captain Jones serving in our community and we are looking forward to having him back home.”
