The Madison County Historic Preservation Commission has been making slow progress in the eventual restoration of the Cedar Bridge.
In April of this year it was intentionally burned and they're waiting for a team of engineers from ISU to determine if some of the timbers can be reused.
Brenda Hollingsworth tells WHO Radio News, if the burn is not too deep, they can use what's left thereby saving money in the process.
She adds, they're hopeful fund-raising efforts can begin soon and to that end, have started a PayPal account with a link on their website.
The hope is to get grant money and then matching donations from the community to make it work.
