ISU Prof says he was targeted because of his color

An Iowa State University professor from India and his white adopted son were delayed after a Delta flight attendant reported him for suspicious activity.

Lakshman Rajagopal is a single father, and he says on a Delta flight from Des Moines to Atlanta last week, a flight attendant thought he looked nervous.   He says he was questioned in Atlanta, and released.

WHO Channel 13 reports Rajagopal says what happened to him shows people still have a problem with color.

Rajagopal said, "I told them if I was white, this would not be a problem because a white person with a white child would be fine."

Delta has now offered Rajaogoal a five-hundred dollar voucher and told him they will use his situation as a way to improve their security training with employees.
