Pleasant Hill's new officer

Canine and handler

The Pleasant Hill Police Department will soon be adding a K-9 named “Boy” to the force. Boy will begin training with his handler, Officer Jason Burke on July 24, 2017.“Burke has been a member of the Pleasant Hill Police Department since October 2010,” said Police Chief Al Pizzano. “Officer Burke was chosen for the position because of his hard work, devotion to this community and his law enforcement skills. We are excited to get this team on the streets of Pleasant Hill to serve our residents.

“Boy” is a Belgian Malinois who is energetic, smart, yet very well reserved.”

The K-9 was named “Boy” by K-9 Tactical of Iowa, the kennel that trains these types of animals. K-9 Tactical of Iowa is owned by Joshua Morton, a retired U.S. Navy Seal from Creston, Iowa.  The department looks forward to having “Boy” as a member of the Pleasant Hill team.
