Black smoke billowed over parts of Des Moines starting around 6 Thursday night as fire broke out at a northeast side business.
Firefighters were called to Phoenix C and S Recyling, in the 47 hundred block of Northeast 22nd street, just south of Interstate 80 near the east mixmaster.
Crews worked for hours to bring the blaze under control. No word yet on the cause of that fire.
