Heatwave coming this week in central Iowa

WHO Channel 13 Weather

The heat and humidity really sets in today.

Skies will be sunny, winds will be from the south and temperatures will reach the low 90s. The humidity will be higher and that will make it feel warmer in the upper 90s today. It will feel even hotter tomorrow with heat index values in the low 100s!  WHO Channel 13 meteorologists recommend having an air conditioned place to cool down, drink plenty of water and wear light and loose fitting clothing.

There are only minimal rain chances.

A complex of storms could impact far northern and northeastern Iowa through early morning Monday, but will miss most of Central Iowa. A few more storms may fire up closer to the Missouri border on Monday afternoon, but again missing us in the central part of the state. We will hold in the 90s through the entire week. There is another slight chance of rain showers on Tuesday and Thursday, but no significant amounts of rainfall.
