Two out-of-state companies promoting a money making system, are being ordered to stop marketing the system in Iowa.
The Iowa Attorney General's Office took issue with "Wealthperx," formerly called "Lotto Magic" - claiming blatantly fraudulent claims and testimonials.
The AG's office says the defendants, from Florida and California, built a scheme around a lie that by becoming paying members of their system, they'd get a steady stream of income.
Investigators say the money stream just flowed away from Iowans, not to them.
A Consumer Protection Division review of company data for Iowa members found that they had sent Wealthperx a total of about $130,000, but had received payouts of only about $10,000.
