The Iowa Department of Natural Resources Project Ware river clean-up is underway.

Hundreds of volunteers will spend the week lugging junk out of a river in northeast Iowa. This is the 15th year, for the program.  Spokesperson Lynette Sigley says has netted 377 tons of trash during the previous 14 years.

She says this week, volunteers in canoes will clean-up 60-miles of the Upper Cedar River.    She says they tend to find a lot old tires and scrap metal, sometimes -even the kitchen sink.
