Dry conditions spreading in Iowa

Dry conditions are spreading in Iowa.

Tim Hall (Hydrology Resource Coordinator) of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources says nearly half the state is dry.

He says the most dry areas are the Skunk River and Chariton River basins in southeast Iowa, as well as a patch in northwest Iowa.

Hall says fortunately, there's enough water in the ground, so conditions could turnaround quickly, with some rainy days.  He says his advice to water users is to keep a careful on on the conditions, and don't let them sneak up on you.
