Jury to decide sexual harrassment case against Iowa Senate Republicans

It's now up to a Polk County jury to decide if the former communications director of the Iowa Republican Party caucus staff in the Iowa Senate was fired for complaining about sexual harrassment, or if her complaints came after poor job performance.

Kirsten Anderson was fired in 2015 by the Iowa Senate GOP caucus staff director, charging that she her work wasn't up to par.  Anderson contends that she and other women were subjected to sexual harrassment by staff and senators and was fired only because she complained.

The jury began deliberating on the case Monday afternoon, after days of testimony from both sides. They spent about one and a half hours in the jury room before adjourning for the evening.

Anderson is currently listed in LinkedIn as a Communication Consultant for Global Atlantic Financial Group in Des Moines.
