June was a good month for jobs in Iowa. Workforce Development Spokesman Cory Kelly says businesses added 11,200 jobs this month, which is the state's largest gain in more than two decades.
He says the top job growth categories in Iowa last month include: leisure and hospitality, restaurants and food service, manufacturing, and both durable and non-durable goods factories saw increases.
Other job gains came in education and healthcare services, real estate, finance, and insurance.
The Iowa unemployment rate went up a tenth to 3.2 percent, but Kelley says that happens every summer in June as new college graduates start looking for work.
