Natalie Welter of the Des Moines Post Office joined us in the studio this morning to tell us about a special "passport fair" coming up this Saturday, August 5th, from 8AM to 2PM. You can just walk in and apply for your passport or you can call ahead and get a specific time at 515-251-2360. New passports are $135.00 plus $15.00 for the photo. Children's passports are $30.00 less. Passport renewals are $25.00 less. The process takes about 6-8 weeks. The process can be expedited to 2-3 weeks with a $60.00 fee. If it is an emergency, you can go to the US Passport Office in either Minneapolis or Chicago and have one in a day or two. Check out the entire interview with Natalie here...
